English Falchion Sword

In general, falchions are curved swords with short, often relatively heavy cutting blades. Type I falchions are very similar to Oriental sabres because of their curved blades with convex points and false edges, which may sometimes be sharp. But type II falchions, which were almost only used in Britain, are more like a cross between the seax of the Early Middle Ages and a type I falchion.

Our English falchion is type II. Its single-edged blade has a straight back and becomes broader toward the point. The fuller is offset toward the back and runs almost the entire length of the blade to make it lighter and easier to manage. Thanks to its beautiful wooden grip and fluted, pear-shaped pommel, our English type II falchion has a very comfortable grasp. The curved crossguard has angled ends that echo the point of the blade for a harmonious look.

This falchion comes with a scabbard made of genuine leather featuring a mount and chape.
