Description
Details
Dated to around 1775, the prototype for this handsome saber is pictured in "Swords & Blades of the American Revolution," a book by George C. Neumann that is very popular with collectors and sword fans. The single-edged, subtly curved blade has two fullers. A narrow, deep fuller almost runs along the entire length of the blade. The other one is shorter, shallower, and much wider. Because of them, this amazing saber weighs less than one kilogram. Nevertheless, our American Revolutionary War saber is perfectly balanced for delivering mighty cuts: like most powerful cutting weapons, it is slightly top-heavy. The spiraling wooden grip is comfortable and easy to control, and the knuckle bow provides added hand protection.
