Sizing for fencing masks are based on your vertical head circumference.

Measure your head by taking a tape measure, holding it underneath your chin, from under your jaw, up past your ear, past the top of your head, down past your other ear, and back down to the bottom of your chin (from where you started).

For many HEMA activities our standard Red Dragon HEMA Mask will suffice, but if you are looking for something with a higher level of protection, or looking to fight in tournaments, our Red Dragon Tournament Fencing Mask will perfectly suit your needs. This CEN 2 mask comes in HEMA Black and features a 1600 newton bib, removable washable liner (handwash only) and heavy-duty adjustable strap. Available in Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large.

Our Full Mask Overlay by Red Dragon is designed for HEMA and adds an extra layer of protection to your fencing mask. The back of head protection features a series of articulated rigid plastic plates allowing for a combination of protection and mobility. The heavy-duty cotton hood is padded to absorb impact from blows and features a contoured hard plastic plate to protect the throat. The 8 ventilation holes (4 on each side) provide excellent heat release without sacrificing protection. Features and adjustable webbing strap with Velcro attachment for a comfortable fit. Our HEMA Light Sparring Jacket by Red Dragon is designed for HEMA and is constructed from a 350N rated heavy-duty cotton with an inner lining. The jacket features less padding than our HEMA Sparring Jacket and is better suited to single hand weapons such as rapier and sabre.

This jacket has no padding on the back as it is very rare to receive effective blows here – especially from rapiers and sabres. This has the effect of reducing the weight of the jacket whilst increasing the breathability. It also does not have padding on the inside of the arms reducing the weight further.

The padded collar features a blade catcher to help protect against stray thrusts that may go under the bib of a fencing mask.  The back of the jacket features an adjustable webbing strap with Velcro attachment which allows it to be pulled in at the waist for a more streamlined fit.

Our HEMA Sparring Jacket by Red Dragon is designed for HEMA and is constructed from a 350N rated heavy-duty cotton with an inner lining. The jacket is well padded to receive blows but has no padding on the back as it is very rare to receive effective blows here. This has the effect of reducing the weight of the jacket whilst increasing the breathability. The zipped front panel overlaps to provide a double-layer of protection against thrusts to the torso.

This jacket also features an innovative built in gorget, designed to overlap the bib of a fencing mask to stop thrusts from travelling upwards from beneath the bib. The gorget features a padded plastic plate to protect the throat and adjustable Velcro straps that allow it to be attached either at the back of the collar or at the back of the shoulders. The gorget can also be worn under the bib of the mask if you so wish. The back of the jacket features an adjustable webbing strap with velcro attachment which allows it to be pulled in at the waist for a more streamlined fit.

Our stylish Light Sparring Hoodies feature integrated foam pads in the shoulders/upper arms and elbows/forearms. These pads can be removed for washing, or when you simply don’t require the protection they afford.

The collar features a blade catcher and integrated plastic throat protector backed with a foam pad to absorb impact. This is securely fastened by Velcro and is also removable. The long zip is reinforced by a press stud at the top and bottom and the hood can also be unzipped and removed if required. It features reinforced elbow patches and zipped pockets.

Unfortunately there is a manufacturing fault on this batch of gloves. The rivets feature the wrong base parts making the gloves less durable than planned.

At only 295g each, they are some of the lightest hard-shell gauntlets on the market.
