We used the Red Dragon sword for some years. They provide in my opinion the best choice regarding cheapness and closeness to steel trainers. Obviously steel hema swords are generally better, but they are expensive and require more protective gear. For starting a hema class, I think those polypropylene are perfect

My bastard sword has taken a bit of a beating and it is still going strong.
Obviously when sparring use like for like - do not use this against a steel sword as it will break! (the waster not the steel)
The weight isnt particularly accurate but the sword itself is good for drills and light sparring.
Great price - good beginners option as a decent steel sword will cost you around £200, possibly more.
